Engineer Project Manager San Antonio, TX
SUMMARY
The
Project Manager will lead product development projects through the entire New Product Commercialization Process, NPCP. In
this capacity, the Project Manager leads a cross-functional project team and is accountable for ensuring the timely and successful
delivery of the product for launch or, as appropriate, recommendations to discontinue projects and reallocate resources. This
individual should demonstrate a thorough understanding of the NPCP process, have strong business acumen, be able to make good
business decisions, have excellent facilitation and project management capabilities, and possess a strong understanding of
the medical device business. The Project Manager will monitor and report project performance and, as appropriate, provide
feedback on the contributions of project team members. RESPONSIBILITIES
- Scope, define, and plan product development projects; includes all aspects of end to end development
activities and inputs from the cross functional team.
- Manage and ensure adherence to project
team contracts that are being implemented with the NPCP. The contracts incorporate budgets, projected financials, schedules
and milestones.
- Help identify and select team members, as appropriate.
- Plan and conduct business focused project phase reviews with executive management.
- Conduct
necessary pre meeting activities, e.g. meeting with executives, to ensure efficient and effective meetings and post meeting
communications and follow up.
- Interact with executives as needed to keep them abreast of project
status and changes; with Resource Management Group.
- Escalate project issues as required, particularly
when reaching limits as defined in the project contracts.
- Lead all project management activities
associated with running the project team: Project planning and scheduling, risk planning, team meetings, etc.
- Broker trade offs between feature, timing, product cost and project cost.
- Lead project
team members to ensure successful completion of deliverables; act as advisor to team regarding projects, tasks, and operations.
- Ensure project compliance with FDA and other regulatory body requirements.
- Provide performance review input for project team members.
- Participate in any and
all reasonable work activities as may be deemed suitable and assigned by management.
- Conform
to, support and enforce all Company policies and procedures.
QUALIFICATIONS
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in electrical, computer, or related engineering
field
- Must have medical device experience
- 5 years product
development or industry experience
- At least 5 years project management experience
- Experience with MS Office applications including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, MSProject, and OutLook
Other Qualifications:
- Experience, e.g. business planning, marketing, finance.
- Experience in development and improvement of technology and product lifecycle processes.
- Knowledge
and experience with the entire product development cycle, including concept, specifications, design, development, validation,
and launch activities.
- Solid knowledge of wound management or critical care therapeutic surfaces
technologies and products.
- Creativity, flexibility, and tolerance for ambiguity.
- Demonstrated interpersonal communication and presentation skills.
- Demonstrated executive
presence and an ability to work with executives to get alignment on key topics.
- Ability to work
with and influence individuals and teams at all levels of the organization including senior management.
- Proven self starter.
Preferred
Qualifications: - Master degree electrical,
computer, or related engineering field
- At least 15 years product development or related industry
experience
